What makes people think that a girl that travels alone must be lonely, lost, unsettled, or hard to please?
We’re actually less materialistic, reasonably self-sufficient (I say reasonably because I do know there are times I can’t do everything and do need a male to assist), we can navigate, have an excellent sense of direction or don’t complain about getting lost and love making new discoveries, are not shopaholics, aren’t afraid of eating or drinking alone (in a restaurant) and value hearing about other people’s travels and lives.
We’re adventurous and love our hometown and country espousing the gems for others to visit, making us great ambassadors. We may have chosen a life of uncertainty – but life has no certainties. We believe in travelling and discovering as much as possible while we can rather than waiting for Mr Right to come along and hold our hand — although if he happens to find us and wants to join us along the way we’re open — provided he doesn’t want to change us or put us in a box.
We can easily make ‘home’ wherever our heart and suitcase is at the time. The whole world is our playground, we love discovering new regions, food, wine and culture and only return if we truly love it, otherwise, it’s another tick off the bucket list.
Blonde or not, we are smart, honest, hardworking and understanding, often having gone through much more than you give us credit for. We’re fun and apt at making the most of every situation and are prepared for the lemons life sometimes throws, making the perfect margaritas with them. We go with the flow and follow our heart. We’re independent, strong, self-sufficient and not needy or clingy.
We don’t travel with someone to cover our costs or do something for us, but only because we will enjoy your company and you hopefully ours. You will not be bored with us. It’s not just a matter of travel, but a whole attitude towards life.
